WHAT IS GRIT YOUTH SUMMER CAMP

GRIT Youth Summer Camp is a unique combination of fitness and learning.

Children who attend our camp experience an even blend of CrossFit workouts with our GRIT Youth CrossFit Coaches as well as curriculum-based structured learning and exploration with our Certified Ontario College's Teacher. Your child will receive quality guidance and structure each and every day.

Our team is highly certified and very enthusiastic about what they do.

This is an in person camp with zero screen time. At GRIT Windsor, we truly value the character that face to face interaction builds, and we fully believe in the necessity of real-life socialization between adults and children alike. We promote a screen-free environment because we know that it creates a more engaging atmosphere for our youth, and pushes them out of their comfort zone in social circles - all an important part of growing up! :)

FITNESS BLOCKS

Fitness blocks are age appropriate ways to introduce your child into fitness in a fun and engaging way. Our certified CrossFit Trainers develop and coach these blocks. Your child will learn the foundations of basic movement patterns (squat, press, pull, lift) using a variety of objects and modes. Workouts are team oriented, age-appropriate, and can be scaled to all ability levels. We promise to take care of your kiddos and to show them that health and fitness is rewarding and fun!

WORKSHOP BLOCKS
Our workshops vary each day and can include: science experiments, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, reading and literature, life skills, etc. We seek to create a fun team atmosphere, develop confidence within your child and help to introduce them to new experiences and hobbies. All of our workshops are developed by Ontario Certified Teachers and are engaging and age appropriate.

EXAMPLES OF ACTIVITIES EXPERIENCED IN OUR CAMP

Workouts geared towards developing a foundation of strength and conditioning that will lend itself to other sports and daily play.

Mobility and maintenance of muscles and joints to give our youth an understanding of how to take care of themselves for years to come, and the importance of rest after exercise.

Science experiments that engage our youth and teach them how to generate an idea and see it play out in real time. They will hone the ability to hypothesize, test and critique based off the results found.

Outdoor time including scavenger hunts, nature hikes, orienteering, a variety of sports, and more! Let us help your child(ren) fall in love with the outdoors!

First Aid, CPR and Home Safety at an age appropriate level. (What do we so if a friend falls and scrapes their knee?)

Arts and crafts with ties to current events. Learn about Indigenous culture from a First Nations person and then create your own dream catcher to take home.

Group activities geared towards confidence, social fluency, responsibility, honesty and more. We help build character in our youth and teach them why it is important to be a good person. And of course, to have GRIT!

(Growth - Resiliency - Integrity - Toughness)

…and MORE! Our camps are highly varied and will keep your child(ren) coming back for more :)
